This network, together with government air traffic control and other data sources, is how Flightradar24 is able to track aircraft around the globe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>ADS<\/b>&#8211;<b>B<\/b>\u00a0 &#8211; <strong>A<\/strong>utomatic <strong>D<\/strong>ependent <strong>S<\/strong>urveillance<strong>\u2013B<\/strong>roadcast is a surveillance technology in which an aircraft determines its position via satellite navigation or other sensors and periodically broadcasts it, enabling it to be tracked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Mode-S<\/strong> employs\u00a0airborne transponders to provide altitude and identification data, with Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) adding global navigation data typically obtained from a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The\u00a0Mode S\u00a0is a secondary surveillance and communication system which supports Air Traffic Control (ATC). Each\u00a0Mode S transponder\u00a0equipped aircraft is assigned a unique address code.
