Sanders &#8211; SK &#8211; K3IUY<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\">April 28, 1934 &#8211; June 14, 2020<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Irvin M. Sanders, 86, of Frey Village, Middletown passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020. Born April 28, 1934 in Harrisburg.<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">He was the son of the late Irvin B. and Ellen M. (Trutt) Sanders and the widower of Beverly A. (Free) Sanders since January 2017.<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\"><\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Surviving are his daughters Brenda L. Kern (Timothy) of Mechanicsburg, Deborah K. Sufrin (Noel) of Enola and Bonita A. Johnson of Apollo Beach, Florida; stepchildren Susan A. Newkam and David W. Knisley both of Hummelstown; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Irv graduated from Hershey High School. He was in the marching band, playing the tuba. He attended college for 3 years, graduating with a degree in Electronics.<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Irv served proudly in the US Army in Germany. He also was part of a country band while in Germany, singing and playing the guitar and bass.<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Irv retired from Susquehanna Township School District as the Electronics and Technology Manager. He was also the owner of Sanders Electronics for many years, where he repaired anything electronic from a TV to an 8-track tape player.<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">He was very proud to be an Amateur HAM radio operator, K3IUY, since 1959. He &#8220;elmered&#8221; many other new operators and was the Dauphin County check-in point for HAM radio for many years. He was the Past President of the Central Pennsylvania Repeater Association. He was also a lifetime member of The American Radio Relay League.<\/div>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">QCWA # 21730 &#8211; Chapter 37<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"Box-sc-5gsflb-0 Text-qbt5xm-0 ObituaryText___StyledText-sc-1vgmcq9-0 WQrfK\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">His primary love was restoring antique radios. One the greatest joys he had restoring the radios was mentoring Rick Downs, his student and son he never had. He also loved camping with his family and friends over many years.
