Dilks, Sr., Harrisburg, former Sunbury residents, took as his bride, Miss Belle Elizabeth Jones, Lewistown R. D. 2, daughter of the late Mrs. Jennie O&#8217;Dell Jones, Lexington, Ky., in a ceremony performed Sunday at 3 p. m. in Trinity Methodist Church, Harrisburg, by Rev. Dr. Merrill Williams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The bride was given in marriage by Dr. Norman J. Pyle, West Chester, and was attended by Miss Marian Hash. B. H. Dilks, Jr., was best man for his brother. A reception followed at the Eleanora Tea Room, Highspire, after which the couple left on a wedding trip to New York.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Mrs. Dilks, who has been residing with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Starr, Lewistown R. D. 2, is a graduate of Lewistown High School and Thompson Business College, Harrisburg, and was employed as secretary to the traffic manager of the Pennsylvania Glass Sand Corporation. Mr. Dilks graduated from Sunbury High School in 1941, and enlisted soon afterward m the Marine Corps. Late in 1942 he left San Francisco with a special radar detachment and served two and a half years abroad. He holds the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with two battle stars, Presidential Unit Citation and Naval Unit Commendation. Dilks, age 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Claremont Nursing and Rehab Center in Carlisle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Born October 5, 1923 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Bartram Hart and Helen (Fullington) Dilks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dr. Dilks worked as a chiropractor in private practice for more than 50 years in Camp Hill prior to his retirement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Prior to establishing his practice, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during both World War II and the Korean War.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dr. Dilks was active in his community, being a charter member of his church, Mt. Olivet United Methodist in Mechanicsburg; was a member of the American Legion Post 109, the Mechanicsburg VFW Post 4907, and the Marine Corps League of New Cumberland; the Capital City Polka Dancers; and the Cumberland Amateur Radio Club. Dr. Dilks also had a love of classic cars, and was involved with the Antique Automobile Club of America, being a member of the Hershey Region Club for which he served as President in 1968 and the Gettysburg Region Club.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Surviving is his wife Freda (Livingston) Dilks; daughter, Susan Ann Dilks Semenick and husband Steve of Blissfield, MI; daughter, Linda Helen Kuckenbrod and husband Roger of Huntingdon; son, Michael C. Wacker and wife Wendy of Mechanicsburg; daughter, Wendy A. Moore and husband Thomas of Corunna, IN; grandchildren, Steve Semenick, Kristen and Kasey Moore, and Alex and Austin Wacker; and his great-granddaughter Alissa McCardell. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bartram Hart Dilks, II.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 5000 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg where there will be a visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will take place in St. John&#8217;s Cemetery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Mt.
