Emily Sue Ulrich – SK – K3ESU (KC3MRW)<\/span>
\nMarch 1, 1974 – Feb. 23, 2022<\/span><\/p>\n

Emily Sue Ulrich, 47, of Hershey, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at UPMC Harrisburg. <\/span>She was born in Jersey Shore PA, on March 1, 1974 to William K. Person and Martha A. (Roan) Messner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emily worked for Susquehanna Area Regional Airport \u2013 HIA<\/span><\/p>\n

Emily was a member of the Harrisburg Radio Amateur Club and Central Pa Repeater Assoc.\u00a0 Emily was relatively new to amateur radio, first licensed in January 2019 as KC3MRW, Technician Class, and a few months later granted a \u201cvanity\u201d as K3ESU in July 2019. She assisted in hamfests and other activities. She was elected Vice-President of the HRAC in December 2021<\/span><\/p>\n

She loved hiking, traveling, white water rafting and wine making. She delighted in learning new things like Mandarin. Emily was a serial hobbyist.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is preceded in death by her niece, Morgan Griffis.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Stephen M. Ulrich of Hershey; two sons, Gabriel and his wife, Corrinne of Harrisburg, Joel of Hershey; daughter, Hannah of Ohio; two brothers, Sam and Grant Messner; two sisters, Valerie Baker and Molly Person. <\/span><\/p>\n

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5 at Brookfield Bible Church with Dr. Jon Shiery officiating. There will be a viewing from 1 \u2013 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held in the Grantville Cemetery.<\/span><\/p>\n

A local memorial service will be held at a later date.<\/span><\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Pennsylvania Adult Teen Challenge, 33 Teen Challenge Road, Rehrersburg, PA 19550.<\/span>

A Memorial Service will be held at East Point Ebenezer United Methodist Church Rt 414 East of Liberty on June 4 at 11 a.m. for Emily Person Ulrich, 1974-2022, graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1992. A picnic lunch will follow the service at 1:30 p.m. at Evergreens where Emily liked to camp and swim, one mile north of Trout Run on Route 14, past Twin Oaks Nursery and Coal Yard, turn right onto Meyers Road.
